Today we’re celebrating the incredible people behind the shelves—our district’s library staff! Whether they’re recommending the perfect book, giving a passionate read-aloud or helping students fall in love with reading for the first time, our librarians and media center paraprofessionals are truly the heart of our schools. 我们采访了几位图书馆工作人员，听听他们为什么喜欢这份工作。

史黛西Odegard 在里奇菲尔德茎小学的图书馆工作。 This is her second year in the role, but she has a long history with R-茎—volunteering for more than eight years when her three children attended. “I love being able to recommend books to kids,” Stacy said. 她每天教4-5个班，享受安静的任务和孩子们到达图书馆时的喜悦。 “The community and staff at R-茎 make it special.”

克里斯汀•菲利普斯 brings both energy and calm to her role at 纪念小学, where she’s been making a difference for the past four years. “My job is the perfect mix of loud, energy-filled time with kids and quiet, task-focused time with books,” Kirsten said. 她专注于寻找能激发好奇心的书，帮助学生们把阅读看作是一种礼物，而不是一件苦差事。 “I live close to my school so I often run into students at Target and the grocery store,” shared Kirsten. “It always blows their minds that I actually leave the library sometimes.”
